Judith and Holofernes, ca. 1690-1700 Folded fan, skin sheet, mounted in English and painted of Judith, sword drawn, leaving Holofernes' tent, holding his head which she has just cut off. Her maid accompanies her as she crosses the soldier's camp. On the right, battle scene and view of a bivouac. Dumb reverse. Ivory mount*. The throat without decoration, the plumes enhanced with a white mother-of-pearl plate and a silver piqué decoration. The head is onion-shaped. H.t. 27 cm-H.f. 16 cm (wear, restorations, small lack)
