Autograph letter signed "W Bouimistrow", New York, May 16, 1925, addressed to Prince Serge Georgievitch
Romanovsky, 8th Duke of Leuchtenberg (1890-1974), 9 pages, folio, text in Russian. Good condition.
Translation: "Your Highness, I have heard rumours that you were not satisfied with our conversation when we left the Park Hall on March 12. Since there are different points of view when several people are involved in the same case. I consider it my duty to express mine on this incident.
As I approached you, I heard unfortunate news that you were not happy to be at the same table with the wife of Grand Duke Boris Wladimirovich.
(...) Whereas some time before, during this semi-official lunch, organized on the occasion of Prince A's birthday. P. Oldenburg, which was attended by Grand Duke Boris Wladimirovich with his wife, Grand Duke Dimitri
Pavlovich and Prince Alexander Georgievich with their wives and Princess
O. of Oldenburg. Zenaide Sergevna, as the wife of the eldest of the grand dukes among us was placed to the right of the prince. In my opinion the constant quarrels among Russians negatively affect the image and affairs of the Russians. We lost our homeland because of lack of unity, but also because of constant criticism and quarrels without important reasons..."
