LARGE CUP AND SAUCER IN PORCELAIN FROM THE MANUFACTURE DARTE FRÈRES IN PARIS. Decorated with a polychrome portrait signed with the initials C. A., representing General Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte (1763-1844), future King of Sweden, after the portrait of François Gérard, painted in 1811, on a matt gold and burnished background. On the back appears a large blue cartouche decorated with gold military trophies. Jasmine" cup, with a flared and curved neck, raised handle with an eagle's head decoration, inside a gold background decorated with a laurel wreath. The saucer is slightly flared and rests on a heel decorated with a garland of oak leaves on a blue background and edged with a large gold net. Mark on the back of the saucer in red letters "Darte Frères à Paris", circa 1812. Very good condition, wear of time on the saucer. H.: 12 cm - Diam.: 10 cm and 16 cm.
