CUP AND SAUCER IN PORCELAIN FROM THE MANUFACTURE DARTE FRÈRES IN PARIS. Decorated with a portrait in brown cameo representing a profile of Queen Désidéria of Sweden, née Désiré Clary (1777-1860), based on a drawing by Paolo-Ferdinando Quaglia (1780-1853), in 1822, see the engraving published at the time of her coronation in 1829, surrounded by a garland of laurel leaves in matt gold, on the back appear two blue cartouches decorated with a royal crown and swan holding garlands of gold leaves and palmettes. Jasmine-shaped cup, with a flared and curved neck, raised handle with a crosier, resting on three lion's paws, gold-bottomed inside. The saucer is slightly flared and rests on a heel, is decorated with a frieze of birds held by alternating stylized garlands of royal crown and gold lyre on a blue background and bordered by a large gold net. Mark on the back of the saucer in red letters "Darte Frères à Paris", circa 1830. Very good condition, wear of time on the saucer. H.: 11 cm - Diam.: 8.5 cm and 14 cm.
