TABLE SERVICE OF THE DUC D'AUMALE. Set comprising a soup tureen (Diam.: 23 cm), a covered gravy boat (22x14 cm), three presentation dishes (Diam.: 26 cm) and 34 flat plates (Diam.: 25 cm) in hard porcelain, with lobed rim, bearing on the top of the marli the figure of the Duke of Aumale H. O. (Henri d'Orléans) under the crown of the Sons of France, in red letters. This service was intended for the offices of the prince's residences, in particular for the Château d'Enghien. It was created in 1878 and was reassembled several times between 1886 and 1890. French work, Paul Blot in Paris, and Jean Pouyat in Limoges. Numerous chips, as is. Provenance: former collection of Prince Henri d'Orléans, Duke of Aumale, son of Louis-Philippe, King of the French (1822-1897).
