FRANÇOIS, Prince de Joinville (1818-1900). Civil War. Photographic print on albumen paper mounted on cardboard, based on a painting representing the princes of France at the Battle of the Seven Days, during the Civil War. At the bottom of the document is an autograph dedication from the hand of the Prince de Joinville: "For Isabelle [duchess of Guise (1878-1961)] from the old uncle Joinville, the count of Paris and the duke of Chartres, to Gaines Mill. Batailles des 7 jours en Virginie", preserved in its original natural wood frame. On view: H.: 27 cm - L.: 42.5 cm. Frame: H.: 56 cm - L.: 75 cm. Reference: in the sale of the estate of Prince Henri d'Orléans, Count of Paris, on October 30, 2000, under n°73, the original drawing of this photographic print was sold. The work made by Prince de Joinville bears the title: "Episode of the Battle of the Seven Days before Richmond, Virginia, June 27, 1862".
