Set of 25 interesting autograph letters signed: "Amélie", dating from 1882 to 1885 addressed to her niece Cornélie Naundorff, also known as Princess Cornélie de Bourbon (1867-1952), 81 pages, in-4°, text in Dutch and French. Folds, freckles. See illustration on page 18. Text: 27 February 1885: "My dear Child, your mother is still here, but she may be leaving next week to spend perhaps a month with her two sisters. I know her motives and that is why I am not opposed to this little trip. She only takes the necessary things with her and leaves everything else here, which is a sign that she will come back. Little Lorris' bed will be placed in my room during this time, he is very kind and loves his uncle. We will send her next Monday to the local school, my eyes prevent me from teaching her, which I regret very much. It is high time he learned to read and write. Auguste and Charles are delighting their teachers, they take great pains to learn. They recently sent a stuffed squirrel to their little brother because they are hunting squirrels with their friends in the park where they go for a walk on country outings. The little beast they sent was taken by your brothers; it is sitting and has a nut in its little front legs. Lorris has received a velocipede that he rides very well and also a nice billiard table on which your brothers will play a game during the Easter holidays, which will last ten days. (...) I've received very good news from Uncle Charles and Grandma, the latter is now 82 years old and doing very well. She is well looked after, by her lady companion and an excellent Belgian maid? the good Marquis is very happy. (...)" - November 24, 1884: "My good and dear child, you must not be as impatient as you are, to receive letters that I do not always have time to write to you. Family business keeps me very busy. I recommend the success of his business, more than ever to you
