ROYAL ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF WAR. Judgment in absentia to be hanged and strangled for a deserter during the Seven Years' War (1756-1763). Printed and partly handwritten document, on "De par le Roy" letterhead with the coat of arms of France, established by the council of war of Wesel (Germany), on 30 June 1757, by the Marshal of Castella, ordering the hanging of a deserter from the Compagnie de Gironde in the Périgord Regiment. The document is signed by eight officers, including the Marshal of Castella, Commander of the town and citadel of Wesel, 1 page, folio format. Freckles and folds
