Folded fan, Duchess of Brussels, Duvelleroy, circa 1900-1910. The leaf is surrounded by bobbin lace decorated with lanceolate leaves, irises and ears of wheat, encircling three large cartridges with needle gauze stitch : in the center two dragonflies flying close to a shore with lanceolate leaves, twigs and ears of wheat in reminder of the spindle decoration, and on each side a dragonfly between fine twigs (very nice condition) Mounting signed Duvelleroy on the reverse, in engraved and pierced mother-of-pearl, gilding and silvering with a quiver, a torch and leaflets, bone arrows, belly with a small metal chain. (very nice condition) Frame height: 24,5 cm. Leaf height: 15 cm. In a box covered with embossed white leather, marked in gold under the lid "DUVELLEROY, 11 Bd de la Madeleine, Ancien passage des Panoramas" and numbered SF in gold on the lid.
