Folded fan with harvest symbols, Point de Gaze, Belgium, circa 1860-80. The extremely fine needleworked lace sheet, whose quality of execution and design is certainly the signature of a large Belgian workshop. Framed with snowball flowers decorated with small beads in relief and beautiful denticulated leaves on a finely drawn and decorated claustra. In the center a sheaf of wheat with all the harvesting tools, scythe, rake, flail, fork and spade. On either side of the mirror, a cherub holding a horse by the reindeer caracoling under two palm trees, large-leaved ferns and birds in full flight complete the decor. Sowing of very small circles, network of great fineness.
