Folded fan, Gauze stitch, needle, late 19th century. The finely needle-stitched lace leaf is gracefully decorated with sprays of wild roses, the hearts decorated with modes in relief, supple cartouches each decorated with different modes, groups of roses and foliage along the edge. Unbleached cotton. (good condition, one small hole in the lattice) Frame and belly in blond tortoiseshell* Frame height: 28 cm Leaf height: 16,5 cm (good condition) * Scale: Specimens made from the scales of marine turtles, Cheloniidae spp (I/A-CE), so-called pre-convention specimen before 01/06/1947 (EC Rule 338/97 of 9 Dec. 1996 art. 2 -W mc).
