Flying in Alençon with a needle, Cie des Indes, end of the 19th century.
Steering wheel in its original box stamped in gold on the lid with the Cie des Indes logo, and "DENTELLES COMPAGNIE des INDES, PARIS" inside.
Elegant decoration with bunches of flowers, small berries and foliage linked by a garland of flexible ribbons decorated with fine fashions and vine leaves worked in shades of various points, small oblong medallions decorated with fashions on the edge, simple network of Alençon. Unbleached cotton, horsehair on the border and on some patterns.
Dim. 3.10 m + 1.95 m = 5.05 m x 12 cm (nice condition, never used, some small storage stains, small accidents at the box)
This lace is a production of the house Alençonnaise Huignard-Besnard which supplied La Cie des Indes in Alençon lace.

A deep border of French Alençon handmade needle lace dating from the end of the 19th century into the original box with the Cie des Indes logo on to the cover and written into the cover of the box: "DENTELLES COMPAGNIE des INDES, PARIS".
Good floral design worked in different stiches. Cotton thread, ivory colour, horse hair at the lower border and surrounding some motifs.
Dim. 3,10 m + 1,95 m = 5,05 m x 12 cm (very good unused condition, a very few little stains, some wears at the box)
