Set of beards, pass and flounces, Alençon, needle, circa 1760-80. Four elements with the same decoration in fine Alençon lace, the beards abutting their pass, and two flounces, decorated with sprays of flowers and berries, cartouches decorated with various modes, simple network of Alençon. Fine linen thread, cream colour. (ptts. holes in the grid). Dim. flywheels: 3.55 m and 2.20 m = 5.75 m x 7 cm. Attached is a footage of Argentan lace, circa 1780-90, Dim. 1.45 m x 6 cm (good condition) Provenance: Barons and Counts van den Steen de Jehay, then by descent. A set of lappets and edgings of Alençon needel lace with matching floral design, about 1750-60, with the simple Alençon mesh ground. Linen thread, cream in colour. Dim. edgings: 3,55 m and 2,20 m = 5,75 m x 7 cm (some scattered little holes to the net) Together with a border of Argentan needle lace dating from about 1780-90 Dim. 1,45 m x 6 cm (good condition) provenance: Barons and Counts van den Steen of Jehay.
