Border with cherubs, spindles, 2nd half of the 17th century. Rare wide border, mirror motifs with two similar scenes alternating: dense decoration of foliage and flowers in a convoluted form and cherubs surmounting a figure. Honey-coloured silk with small grey markings. Flanders or Spain? Dim. 55 cm x 18 cm (good condition, one restoration, consolidated border picots) Provenance: old Pat Earnshaw collection. A deep border of silk bobbin-lace, possibly Spanish, with a rare motif of cherubs and human stylized figures, and scroll branch and leaves, dating from 2nd half of the 17th century. Dim. 55 cm x 18 cm (good condition, one repair at the upper edge, picots at the lower edge from a later period) Provenance: Pat Earnshaw former collection.
