Amphitrite triumphant, ca. 1760-1770 Folded fan, the leaf in skin, mounted in English, and painted of the sea goddess Amphitrite carried in a sea conch by tritons, and surrounded by lovers. With Cupid, she points to a love pulling an arrow from the side of a dolphin. Reverse side painted with a rock and a fortress in the distance. White mother-of-pearl mounting, engraved, silvered and gilded. H.t. 27 cm - H.f. 12,2 cm (wear, restorations, two strands replaced)
