St. Peter's in Rome, ca. 1780-1790 Folded fan, known as the "Grand Tour", the double sheet in skin, and painted on a beige background of a view of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and the Bernini colonnade. On each side, decorations recall the newly discovered frescoes in Pompeii and Herculaneum. Reverse side painted with pink scrolls. Mounting in pierced ivory, engraved and gilded with a geometric decoration. Brace. H.t. 25,5 cm - H.f. 13,3 cm (good condition, restorations, wear)
