Two Gallants for a Bird, ca. 1770 Folded fan, the skin sheet lined with paper, painted with gouache of a young woman courted by two boys. One of them presents her with a bird out of its cage. Fisherman on the left and shepherdess on the right. Reverse: young girl alone in a country setting. Has kept its original border painted with a flower. Ivory mounting finely cut, pierced, engraved, burgundy and gilded with musicians in side medallions and the crowning of the chosen one by her beau in the center. H.t. 27,2 cm - H.f. 12,2 cm (good condition, stains on the reverse) In a cardboard box bearing under the lid the address of Gondard, fine hardware and cabinet making, in Lyon.
