Picnic, circa 1720 - Lot 64
Picnic, circa 1720 Folded fan, the leaf in skin, mounted in English style, and painted with two asymmetrical cartels among jasmine flowers. A country picnic is illustrated on the right, and figures at the water's edge on the left. Reverse side painted with a peasant walking, his rake on his shoulder. Mounted in pierced ivory, engraved in symmetry with a couple and an architecture. The engraved plumes, decorated with a silver piqué decoration and carved motifs in white mother-of-pearl including a bust in the antique style, and a woman with her basket. H.t. 28,5 cm - H.f. 16 cm (wear, restorations) Provenance: label bearing the reference "1831" of the former collection Henry-René d'Allemagne (1863-1950).
