The minuet, circa 1860-1880 Folded fan, the sheet in skin, mounted in the English style, and painted in gouache, in the taste of the 18th century. Accompanied by a guitar player, a dancer sketches a few steps in front of a female audience. The palace opens through a portico onto a garden. Monogrammed on the left. Reverse side painted with an animated landscape of a shepherd, a fisherman and washerwomen. Richly pierced, engraved, burgundy and gilded white mother-of-pearl frame decorated with three carved cartels of children. H.t. 28.4 cm-H.F. 13.2 cm (restorations and slight accidents) In a box covered with cream silk, bearing the label of the prestigious Rodien house. N.B.: the composition is close to the work of S. Leclerc, "Le menuet", 18th century, Paris, Musée du Petit-Palais.
