Les chasses de Louis XIV, circa 1850 Folded fan, double sheet of lithographed paper, enhanced according to the King's painter Van der Meulen (1632-1690) "Louis XIV à la chasse au cerf avec les dames". On the right, a scene of a bat l'eau. On the sides, medallions with scenes of hunting rest, and the radiant sun, symbol of the king. Signature of the lithographer: "Palamède de Visconti" on the right. Reverse: blue and gold floral decoration on a midnight blue background. Black stained wood frame, pierced, engraved and gilded. The plumes inlaid with engraved and gilded white mother-of-pearl plates. Small oval mirror on one. H.t. 27 cm-H.F. 11 cm N.B.: this fan was presented during an exhibition at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris from November 2005 to February 2006.
