Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, circa 1750 - Lot 119
Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, circa 1750 Rare and large fan called "full flight", opening to 180 degrees. The skin sheet lined with paper, and painted with gouache. In the center, the queen of Sheba bows and places a box of perfumes at Solomon's feet. The king leaves his throne to welcome her. On the sides, a camel evokes his journey, while men move bundles and barrels. On a barrel on the right, the initials "VB". On the reverse, a couple. White mother-of-pearl frame pierced, engraved and enhanced in colour with two symmetrical cartels with a gallant subject. Pink line decoration on the face. H.t. 28.8 cm - H.f. 12.5 cm (restorations)
