Diana and Actaeon, early 18th century Folded fan, the sheet in skin, mounted in the English style, and painted with Actaeon surprising Diana and her nymphs in the bath. Outraged by this intrusion, the goddess transforms it into a deer and the hunter's dogs devour it. Mute reverse. Ivory frame* finely pierced and engraved with dancers. H.t. 26.5 cm-H.F. 13.2 cm (worn and missing restorations)
