The tavern, 18th century - Lot 103
The tavern, 18th century Folded fan, the painted skin sheet of festivities in front of a tavern. Musicians play music while a couple dances. Ivory frame* engraved and enhanced in colour with a fortified house and a couple, including a man sitting on a barrel. A crane and a mother-of-pearl fox, reminiscent of La Fontaine's fables, are inlaid on the sides. The plumes are decorated with applied mother-of-pearl decoration. Around 1730 Reverse painted with a gallant scene. H.t. 29.6 cm-H.F. 16 cm (missing, restorations)
