Sleeping Endymion, ca. 1700-1720 Folded fan, the leaf in skin, mounted in the English style, and painted of the shepherd Endymion dreaming under a tree, whose love unveils his body to offer it to the eyes of Venus. Additions along the edge of bunches of grapes and horn of plenty, in embossed and gilded paper. Ivory* frame with silver quilted decoration. Applied plumes of mother-of-pearl motifs.
