Atelier de Luigi VALADIER (1726 - 1785). Oval frame in finely chiselled bronze with green patina, decorated with a frieze of acanthus leaves, bunches of grapes, ears of wheat, clouds, a frieze of applied gilt bronze beads (missing). This frame was probably intended to receive a silver bas-relief or a micro-mosaic plate. Rome around 1775. H.: 40.5 cm, L.: 36.5 cm. Interior: 27 x 20.5 cm. This frame is similar to those made by Luigi Valadier for the papal collections.
