Serpentine tobacco jar, the gilt copper frame resting on a r - Lot 24
Serpentine tobacco jar, the gilt copper frame resting on a round base with a moulded throat, the body faceted, the lid stamped with a battle scene. German work from the end of the 17th century. H.:17 cm, D.: 13 cm. Serpentine is highly appreciated for its hardness and lends itself easily to the faceted cut characteristic of 17th century German production.
