Figurative orphreys, Italy, Florence, late 15th-early 16th century, lampas made of polychrome silk and gold and silver metallic thread. One with the monogram IHS on a glory framed by 4 angel figures with spandrels, (slight wear), 21 x 37 cm and 22 x 21 cm. The second represents the Annunciation, (wear and tear), 43 x 15.5 cm. Several woven orphreys of the same type are preserved in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Bargello Museum in Florence, the Kunstgewerbe Museum in Dresden and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
