Filigree and enamel, China, 19th century Folded fan, the double gouache-painted paper sheet of a family gathering in the gardens of a mansion. Twelve figures wear silk clothing in relief and an individualized ivory head. Reverse painted on a silver background of a bird on a rock among roses and lilies. Mounted in filigree and gilded metal, decorated on both sides with flowers and foliage in green, blue and brown enamel. The plumes are decorated in relief with scholars in gardens.
