Adonis led by love near Venus, around 1800 Folded fan, leather leaf painted with gouache in the taste of Pompeii's frescoes. On a sky blue background, two loves rest among the clouds. In the centre, according to the work of the Italian painter L'Albane (1578-1660), Adonis returns from hunting and discovers Venus asleep. On the upper edge, a grey frieze with rabbits and trophies. Rich scrolls on the reverse, framing the figure of Mercury brandishing his caduceus. On the left, later signature "Duvelleroy". A finely pierced bone frame, carved with baskets of flowers and altars of love. The head covered with brown scale**.H.t. 24.5 cm - H.f. 13.5 cm (worn, back replaced at the beginning of the 20th century)
