History guided by Prudence and Force, circa 1750-1760 Folded fan, English-style leather leaf painted with pink stripes on a dark blue background. In the centre in a cartel, in bistre, Clio, muse of History, seeking inspiration with a feather in his hand, while a love plays with his lyre. On the left, the Force is symbolized by a woman holding a lion on a leash, while on the right, Prudence is associated with the mirror and the globe. On either side, two port views in shades of pink. On the reverse, a single shepherdess, a white mother-of-pearl frame pierced, sculpted, engraved, burgautée and gilded with Greek decoration, and characters. H.t.29,5 cm / H.f. 14,7 cm (good condition, rest.)
