HATPIN BELONGING TO PRINCESS IRÈNE PALEY (1865-1939). The spherical head of the pin is enameled in translucent violet on a "barley grain" guilloché ground encircled by a white enameled band decorated with a garland of flowers held by diamond roses. The top is adorned with a diamond rose. Damage, as is. Russian or Austrian work, no visible hallmarks, circa 1910/1920. L.: 17 cm - Diam.: 2 cm. Gross weight: 10 g. Provenance : collection of Princess Olga Paley, wife of Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovitch of Russia (1860-1919), then kept by her daughter, Princess Irène Pavlovna Paley (1903-1990) and by the descendants of her second husband, Count Hubert de Monbrison (1892-1981).
