VERMEIL CROIX PENDENTIF HAVING BELONGED TO PRINCE NICOLAS YOUSSOUPOFF By FABERGÉ, St. Petersburg, before 1896. Representing Christ on a cross enameled in translucent red on a guilloché background of "grains d'orge", set with small cabochon rubies and fine pearls, inscribed on the back in Cyrillic characters: "Sauve et garde". Time wear, but good overall condition. Title hallmark: 88, Saint Petersburg, before 1896. Goldsmith's hallmark: K. F. (Carl Fabergé). H. 5.5 cm - L. 4 cm. Weight : 17 g. History: according to family legend, this pendant cross belonged to Prince Nicolas Félixovitch Youssoupoff (1883-1908) and was subsequently kept by his brother Prince Félix Youssoupoff (1887-1967).
