RODIN Auguste (1840-1917), after ÉCOLE FRANÇAISE DE LA FIN DU XXe SIÈCLE. La toilette de Vénus. Bronze with green patina. Inside, a label with the handwritten inscription: "Replica of La Toilette de Vénus, based on a restored plaster cast that belonged to my friend Fabrice in October 1988. I chiseled and cast this piece myself, by Fabrice (...)". Good condition. H. 45 cm - W. 22 cm - D. 19.5 cm. History: This sculpture, better known as La Toilette de Vénus, is also known as Faunesse agenouillée or Le Réveil. It is in the voluptuous vein of Auguste Rodin's work. Here, the artist has depicted Venus emerging from the waters, in a sensual attitude that highlights feminine beauty, both allegorical and natural.
