Roses and grapes, Europe, circa 1855-1860 Parasol, with cream-colored, moiré and brocaded silk cover decorated with flowers, and lace frill around the edge. Silk lining. Ivory handle carved with bunches of grapes and flowers including roses. Ivory needles and tip. Total length 63 cm Eight baleen whalebones, 25 cm Weight 170 gr (restorations) All umbrellas and parasols containing ivory, whale baleen or rhinoceros horn are issued with an intra-Community certificate, or K permit, allowing them to circulate in Europe. These will be issued to purchasers.
