Large bobbin lace ruffle, Maison Lefébure, late 19th century. In rare Valenciennes-type bobbin lace from Ghent, the motifs without relief and assembled by a network of braided round meshes, one end originally finished with the partially embossed paper label ALF for Auguste Lefébure et Fils. Well-balanced decoration with two alternating motifs in free symmetry, charming branches with supple stems punctuated with small bulbous flowers and small carnations, cream-colored cotton. Dim. 3.70 m x 23 cm (very good condition) Provenance sale on October 3, 1989, Lefébure fund, Ionesco study in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
