RUSSIAN NOBILITY PHOTOGRAPHIC ARCHIVES OF THE BILDERLING - ARMFELTS - VESTMAN FAMILIES. Comprising over 130 early photographs, including portraits of the principal members of these families, interior and exterior views of their residences in Russia, notably Zapolié, family group scenes, picnics and military scenes. A beautiful and interesting set of documents tracing the life and daily life of a famous family of Swedish nobility that branched out into several countries around the Baltic, titled count by Czar Alexander I, when Finland was annexed to Russia in 1812. Some prints bear autograph signatures, notably those of Count Nicholas Vladimirovich Vestman, senior officer and chamberlain to Emperor Nicholas II, his brother Count Illiya Vladimirovich, Count Alexander Bilderling, Constantin Pobidonievitch, Countess Sophie Sophie Bilderling, lady-in-waiting to the Empress, Countess Tatischoff and others. All the photographs are identified, located and dated. They cover the period from 1880 to 1917. A family tree linking all members of these three families is included. Prints by the greatest photographers of the period: Disderi, Bergamasco, Assikritoff, Yasvoin, Elvira, Boissonnas et Eggler, Assikritoff, etc. Various formats. Good condition.
