Member of the high society of Amsterdam, the Lestevenons being members of the Dutch patrician families (regenten), Magtelina Christina (1741-1789) was the daughter of François Lestevenon (1702- 1767), a prominent statesman, who was notably mayor of Amsterdam twice (1762, 1765).
