Valenciennes lace from Ghent, spindles, Belgium, circa 1868-1880. Large document probably cut from a vane stocking, in rare Valenciennes of Ghent with patches, motifs without relief connected by a Valenciennes network of braided mesh, decorated with a large branch with flowers in full bloom and cartouches decorated with various points. Cream colored linen. Dim. lace : 62 x 50 cm (good condition) The Royal Museums of Art and History of Brussels, formerly the Musée du Cinquantenaire, has a similar piece in Valenciennes from Ghent, Inv. D 3877.
