Saint Irene, painting with glued threads, Italy, 18th century, polychrome silk threads and metallic threads glued with wax on cardboard, the flesh painted in tempera on silk satin. The patron saint of Lecce is depicted pushing aside the lightning that struck the city, identified by the representation of the Porta Napoli and the walls.
