Renaud and Armide, ca. 1750- 1760 Folded fan, the skin sheet lined with paper and painted with gouache of Renaud having abandoned his weapons at the feet of the magician Armide. Lovers cover them with flowers, while soldiers in the background wait for their companion. Reverse: a woman alone, her bow at her feet. Cut-out ivory* mount painted with golden hearts, flowers and Chinese figures. H.t. 26,5 cm-H.f. 12,2 cm (restorations)
