Achilles Uncovered, circa 1700 Folded fan, the double sheet of painted paper on a silver background of a man raising his sword among a group of women, presumably illustrating the story of Achilles unmasked among the daughters of Lycomedes. The statue of Jupiter dominates the piece. Reverse side richly painted with flowers including roses and tulips. Ivory mount*. H.t. 28 cm-H.f. 16,6 cm (stains, cuts, restorations)
