History: in 1844, King Louis-Philippe ordered an important service from the Sèvres factory for the château d'Eu. The floral motifs of the pieces of this service were specially designed according to the gardens and the rural environment of the favourite summer residence of the French king. The trophies also deliberately allude to the court's leisure activities during the summer months in the Normandy countryside.
