Flanders lace border, spindles, end of the 17th and beginnin - Lot 163
Flanders lace border, spindles, end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th century. Flanders lace made in the spirit of Milan lace, the motifs drawn by an Occhiolini type outline. Fine ivory-coloured linen. Well-structured decoration with two similar vertical compositions, each worked in mirror, with a variation of stitches: one with a braided network of the Malines type, the other in a variation of the weave stitch. Later addition of a small bobbin lace on the lower edge, two bronze wax seals on yellow silk ribbon, probably the signature of a firm in charge of the maintenance of this lace at the beginning of the 20th century. Dim. 3,05 m x 22 cm. (good condition)
