Rare scissor case in calfskin decorated with small irons of a fleur-de-lis seedling in frames, it has loops for a cord. The interior contains a chisel and three surgeon's lancets with silver handles engraved with foliage scrolls decorated with a naked figure of an archer, the blades in steel, one punched. Parisian work circa 1630-1650. H.: 10, 8 cm The Louvre museum exhibits a similar model, but kept in an enamelled silver case (former collection of Mr Charles Sauvageot, bequeathed in 1856).
