PATENT OF NOBLESSE SIGNED BY THE FRENCH EMPEROR JOSEPH I OF AUSTRIA. Awarding Virginio Pedrelli, Doctor of Law and lawyer, the title of Knight Virginio Ritter von Pedrelli, made in Vienna on 11 May 1892. With the autograph signatures at the bottom of the last page of Emperor Franz Joseph's document: "Franz Joseph", of the court minister Count Eduard Taaffe and of the Apostolic Nuncio of the Austrian court. Eight pages on vellum, illuminated and signed by Carl Boess, preserved in a sumptuous sand morocco binding enriched with garnet cabochons, scrolls and a frieze for framing. In the centre of the dish appears a gilded brass medallion embossed and enamelled with the knight's coat of arms. The whole is held by a twisted gold wire cord holding a round box with a red wax imprint of the great coat of arms of the Imperial House of Austria. Binding signed "L. Groner and Nachfolger", supplier to the Imperial Court. Lacks, stains and freckles. H.: 39,5 cm - L.: 30,5 cm.
