PHILIPPE VIII, duc d'Orléans (1830-1911) Photographic portrait signed Taponier in Paris, the representative posing in an armchair. Sepia print mounted on cardboard, with the photographer's signature. Enclosed is another sepia photographic portrait mounted on cardboard showing the prince posing on horseback during a hunt in Villamanriqué, a photographic portrait of the Duke of Guise as a child with his dog (photo taken by his father, the Duke of Chartres), a photographic portrait of the Duke of Guise as a child posing with his brother, Prince Henri d'Orléans (1867-1901) signed Numa in Cannes and an engraving of Princess Hélène d'Orléans, Duchess of Aosta. Weathered but in good condition. Height: 37 cm - Width: 25 cm; Height: 32.5 cm - Length: 38 cm and various formats. See illustration on page 95. Provenance: former collection of Prince Henri d'Orléans, Count of Paris (1908-1999). Sale of his estate Drouot November 14, 2000.
