Lacemaking tools for bobbin lace, end of the XIXth century - Four beautiful ''love pins'' or espinasses, large pin for Auvergne tiles, made of steel with a sulphur head in glass paste. (heads in good condition, one stem slightly oxidized) - Rare brass pins and glass head in a box, and some metal pins and glass head (some traces of oxidation) - Rare box of 12 reels of flax thread for Cottier bobbins and a wooden Cottier spindle (good condition) This spindle created by Jacques Cottier, allowed to work without touching the thread; the body of the spindle unscrewed to place a spool; two elastic bands made by Michelin maintained the thread in place. Les Dentelles de France'' OIDFA Caen 2012 Collection of bobbin lace makers tools from the French Auvergne area, end of the 19th cent: Four long pins of steel with glass heads, special tool for the French bobbin lace pillow from the Auvergne area (one is slightly oxydated) A set of brass pins with glass head into a box, some pins are made of steel (good condition, a few are oxydated) A rare box of 12 Cottier bobbins of linen thread and a rare Cottier bobbin (good condition) this is a special bobbin for bobbin lace, i twas invented by Mr Cottier : there is a little bobbin of thread into the wooden bobbin and the thread is therefor protected from dirt while the lace maker is working.
