Large folded fan, Gauze stitch, needle, late 19th century. The finely needleworked lace leaf, richly decorated with blooming roses, a series of medallions and cartouches drawn by soft palms and decorated with various fashions, bunches of roses and branches of papal coins in the centre and on the sides. Ivory cotton. (good condition, small freckles on the edge, a small hole in the grid) Frame and belly in blond tortoiseshell*, the plume engraved with the MR number. Frame height: 31,5 cm. Leaf height: 18 cm. (good general condition, accidents with two arrows but no missing) In its box covered with cream satin, the lid painted in two shades of gold with the same MR number. * Scale: Specimens made from the scales of marine turtles, Cheloniidae spp (I/A-EC), a so-called pre-Convention specimen prior to 1 June 1947 (EC Rule 338/97 of 9 December 1996 Art. 2 -W mc).
