Rare "Cauliflower" lace, bobbins, Antwerp, circa 1660-70. Lace with continuous thread bobbins, mirror pattern with dense oval medallions and branches on both sides. Lin. One cream colour Dim. 85 cm x 5 cm. (partly frayed edge) one light ivory colour Dim. 50 cm x 4.5 cm (more orange areas, one hole) and two others, one with a beige wax collector's seal label at each end, Dim. 60 cm x 2 cm (good condition) and 24 cm x 3 cm (good condition) Cf. Four edgings of Dutch bobbin-lace sometime called "Cauliflower", Antwerpen, dating from about 1660-70 Straight-edged lace with oval shapped medaillons densely patterned with flowers, linen thread. One cream in colour Dim. 85 cm x 5 cm. (some frayed threads at the edges) one ivory colour 50 cm x 4,5 cm (one hole, some shaded areas) together with two narrower strips of the same "Cauliflower" lace with a tiny pattern.
