Punto in Aria, needle, Italy, 2nd quarter of the 17th century. Wide, later reworked berthe border, very finely needleworked with a dense decoration of symmetrical motifs, bouquets and vases laden with fine twigs in convolutions with blooming flowers and rosettes. Thin later period spindle borders. Cream-coloured linen. Dim. circumference: 153 cm, Height: 17 cm. (some broken flanges and fine restorations) Cf.
